Estate Planning

Being There For Them Even When You Can't

Welcome to Selectium Law Group

Congratulations for making it here and taking the first step toward planning for everyone and everything you love. We cherish the opportunity to help you secure what you love.

We look forward to learning your story, hearing what matters to you, and helping you discover what's actually needed to keep your loved ones out of court and out of conflict when something happens to you (or them).

In one sentence, we help families and businesses avoid collapse after the death or disability of a loved one or business partner.

Name Legal Guardians For Free

Naming guardians for your kids is totally free & easy, no strings attached.

Many of our happiest clients started just where you are right now. But when they read the bestselling book on estate planning for families, Wear Clean Underwear (I know, it's a funny name, right?), they felt more at ease, educated and informed about this important planning than they ever had before.

And they love the peace of mind that comes with knowing everything is set up the right way for themselves, their future, their loved ones, and their business.

I would love to send you a copy of Wear Clean Underwear: A Fast, Fun, Friendly – and Essential – Guide to Legal Planning for Busy Families for FREE as my gift to you for considering working with me.

It's called "Wear Clean Underwear" because your mom always told you to wear clean underwear in case you were in an accident. But once you are a parent, there are important legal planning steps you need to take as well. By the way, the book gets 4.4 stars on Amazon.

Do You Really Know?

Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt what would happen legally and financially to you, your loved ones, your money, and everything else you care about if something unexpected happened to you?

If you have an estate plan and it is out of date, your assets could be lost to the state department of unclaimed property or an unnecessary and public court process.

If you do not have an estate plan, then your state has a plan for you, and it is probably not what you want.

Here is the bottom line: If you do not know exactly what would happen to everyone you love and everything you own, then the first step is to find out exactly what would happen legally and financially so that you can decide if the current state of your affairs is okay with you.

How Do We Help You With Estate Planning?

We meet together for your Family Wealth Planning Session, where the sole purpose is to get you more informed.

Before your Family Wealth Planning Session, you will complete your Family Wealth Inventory & Assessment, which will help you get clear about what you own and what you have to think about when planning for your loved ones' well-being and care and your belongings.

If you decide the current state of affairs is unacceptable, and if we both decide that it is a fit to work together, we will design an estate plan together that will best suit your family's needs.

Your estate plan's foundation will often include a revocable living trust, which, when done correctly and maintained over time, should help your family avoid the cost and delay of the public probate process and minimize or eliminate estate taxes.

For people with additional needs, we provide advanced estate planning services.

"Can I DIY My Estate Plan?"

We get this question all the time.

Unfortunately, most DIY plans do not work because much of what passes for estate "planning" is little more than word processing.

You answer a few automated questions, and then the drafter (normally just software, not a human being) decides which "plan" is right for you. And then you are forced into a template document that may not reflect your needs or situation whatsoever.

This is not estate planning; this is little more than a "search and replace" of your family's name and then the hit of the "print" button.

We Are Professional Estate Planners

We will educate you and take the time to get to know you, your family, your concerns, your goals and your issues.

We will gladly and patiently answer all your questions to design an estate plan that is exactly right for you and will keep your loved ones out of court and out of conflict.

Three Levels of Estate Planning

Estate planning at Selectium Law Group is not “one size fits all” or “cookie cutter.”

We offer three levels of planning to suit your varying needs, and you get to choose the level of planning that best fits your family.

From starter plans designed primarily for families with young children and not yet much in the way of financial wealth to more robust plans for well-established families concerned with matters of asset protection, preservation and increased growth, we have you covered.

Personalized Service And Fees for Estate Planning

We have priced our planning for you at the intersection of affordability and effectiveness.

Depending on what you need, our fees range from around $2,000 for those not worried about keeping family out of court, up to $8,000 for an extensive plan that provides significant asset protection after death and maximum protection for your assets from inadvertent loss to the state department of unclaimed property or the court process.

If you are looking for the cheapest planning you can find, you may as well read up and do it yourself because you will get the same quality of planning online as you will with any lawyer who is charging fees less than what we offer here.

When we meet for your Family Wealth Planning Session, we will review our three planning levels with you, and you will choose your own fee based on your budget and the planning options that are most important to you and your family.

There Truly Is No One-Size-Fits-All Solution

We have created a process to educate you quickly and effectively so that you can make empowered, informed choices about what you want for the people you love so that you aren't simply choosing the cheapest option simply because you don’t have any other basis for making your decisions.

We believe in personalized service for each and every client.

Our approach is educational and proactive – we educate you based on the specifics of your family situation, your assets, and your individual needs, wants, desires and values and then guide you to tell us what you want most so we can create the plan (and the fee for that plan) that aligns with your objectives for your family and your assets.
